A Different Kind of Fussy Giveaway

Happy Super Bowl Sunday! Later today I will repost my missive to manliness that ran last year at this time. But now let me tell you about a fussy little game that is all our own. It’s a giveaway of sorts, but just a little different from the ones I have done in the past. CSN stores is sponsoring the grand prize of a $45 gift certificate for use on any of their sites and for any of their products. So if you want to buy a swing set or a coffee grinder or almost anything else on God’s green Earth, they’ll likely have it.

Why is this giveaway different from all other giveaways? Well, I’ll tell you.

Call me silly, but I think loyal readers of the FLB should have a bit of a leg up in winning some kind of prize from the blog. You all invest a lot of time reading, commenting and sharing. And I can’t even tell you how thankful I am for your participation, regardless how modest.

When teh Internets find out about any kind of contest, people come out of the woodwork. Everyone wants something free, and I can’t say that I blame them. I want free stuff too. And frankly, I’m kind of amazed that more companies haven’t sent me wine, booze, or food to review. C’mon, what gives?

Still, a giveaway has to be fair. This isn’t ’Nam, there are rules, man.

Did you ever see Midnight Madness? Part of me wants to execute an online treasure hunt, where each fiendishly clever clue leads you closer and closer to the jackpot. I think I would need ADS to help me pull this off, but sadly he’s had an actual job for far too long.

Instead, the profussor is going to give his first exam. It will be a pop quiz, so you will need to be prepared. Keep your eyes on the FLB. It may help to subscribe to my twitter feed, or become a friend of the FLB on Facebook.

Because once the test is posted, the first person who submits all the answers correctly via email to danielb [at] fussylittleblog [dot] com will be the winner. Just like in school, you can only submit one answer sheet—the first answers you submit will be your official entry. Once you hit send there can be no amending of answers.

As soon as I receive the winning submission, I will alert you all in the comments of the quiz. If however a perfect answer sheet is not submitted within 48 hours, the winner will be the person who has the highest score. Ties will be determined by the fiendishly hard bonus question(s). In the unlikely event there is still a tie, the sheet submitted first will be declared the winner.

Is this a bit more work? Yes.
Is this overly complicated? Most definitely.
But is it also a bit more fun than just leaving a comment? I hope so.

I suspect that long time readers will have a leg up in the quiz, because they may just know most of the answers without having to use Google. But it never hurts to be prepared. In the next few days you may want to try and catch up on some of the fussy little posts you may have missed.

Now go study.
