BONUS: Quick Mid-Week Giveaway

So the first ever All Good Bakers dinner is totally sold out. I’m going to be at the second seating, but the first seating at 6 o’clock is going to be the historic one. Farmer Jon who grew a bunch of the produce on the menu will be there. As will Burnt My Fingers.

As fate would have it his dining companion has backed out. Instead of letting a seat go empty Britin from All Good Bakers thought it would be a good idea to give it away to another FLB reader. Graciously Burnt My Fingers agreed to dine with a mystery companion.

And that mystery companion could be you. If you act quickly.

You are also in luck because now the entire menu for the meal is set. It was emailed to those with reservations yesterday, and today it was posted on Facebook. But you’ll need to look it over to win a seat at dinner tonight.

Now, just leave a comment below about which of these dishes you find to be the most exciting. I know it may be hard. But I’m serious. All of them isn’t a qualifying answer. You’ve got to choose one and commit to it.

Timing is tight here, so please only enter if you can make the dinner tonight at six o’clock in Albany tonight. The winner will be notified by email, so please submit your comment using an email address that you check regularly. I promise not to sell, rent, lend or otherwise transmit that address to anyone.

To make sure this prize is actually collected, the winner will need to be able to confirm their attendance. I’ll make the selection at two o’clock today. If the winner doesn’t confirm by email within one hour of the notification, the prize will be revoked and awarded to someone else. Should that happen, there will be no whining.

    I’m in! That is super hard to choose as they all sound interesting. I’d have to say the spicy greens, beets, and smoked duck breast sounds pretty exciting. Husband’s out of town and the thought of someone else cooking for me makes my mouth water. Hopefully no one else can make it!

    I could definitely make it! I was going to go with safe and pick what I would be certain to love, but you asked which we would find most exciting; the applewood smoked fresh trout. It’s only in the last few years that I’ve started trying more fish and I still have never had trout. I imagine this would be a splendid introduction!

    of course I have to say dessert, because i love all things sweet, and strawberry rhubarb just may be my favorite combination for a dessert!

    As much as I want to say the ribs, I’m going with the Johnny cakes and siracha butter. Because johnny cakes make me think of really dry cornbread. And the pairing with the siracha seems so… strange.

    I want them to prove me wrong.

    Plus, I can never go there because they close so early.

    I’d say the trout because it sounds good! I love fish but I’ve never had trout before and I usually shy away from smoked fish (the smoked flavor is too strong most of the time) but that sounds interesting enough to try.

    I can make it!
    I am most interested in the duck with greens as I don’t make duck at home and the pairing with the greens (I assume mustard) sound great.

    Congratulations to stargazer. picked her entry. I sent the email. And she confirmed. To the rest of you, thanks for playing. You can still make reservations for next week’s menu. I think the eight o’clock is already sold out, but last I checked there were still openings at six. Regardless, you can book ahead for whatever Wednesday you like. They are doing these all summer provided demand stays high. I really hope it does.

    Stargazer was great company and the inaugural chef’s meal was fabulous! Something that wasn’t clear to me was that you get EVERYTHING on that menu, it’s not an either/or. The smoked trout, pickled carrots and of course the dessert were particular standouts for me. Also, perfectly seasoned warm focaccia to start with Britin’s perfect green garlic butter.

    This is a fabulous new tradition in our area and it’s just going to get better so make your reservations while you still can.

    Thank you all for entering this last minute contest! Wish everyone could have won, but you can make reservations throughout the summer :) (and maybe into fall until the Sat Delmar Mkt closes – Nick wants to keep it up). We look forward to seeing you all!
